My new bootsies

My boots got a 15 min. glamor shot by Ang session.
I can't stop staring at them.

I need to stop shopping, really I do.
[haha, I originally had shop stopping written.]
But aren't they gorgeous?
I love these so much. I kinda want to bring them back, though. I was completely enamored in the store, but when I got to the register I found out that the price was $140 [my brother told me that they were $70 *shakes fists*] That's kinda pricey especially since I still have more shopping to do tomorrow and sunday. So I leave it to you guys... ditch or keep?

Ugh, moo.. Mama's had a day!

Yes, yes she did. First the airport [which is never fun.]
Correction: Traffic was first actually.
Have I ever expressed my distaste for traffic caused by the GWB? Grr! [Now I have.]
I had to go pick our new house guest. Fun?
Then I got pizza. Our house guest hasn't had NY pizza in 5 years.
He was long over due.
Then I went shopping for my brother's bday presents.
En route, I picked up the new loves of my life.
MY NEW SHOESSS!

I tried to take a cute pic like so:
but apparently I have parkinsons or something. Like if my feet weren't moving, my hands were. Ugh, I'm lame lol.

[Wow, I haven't done I life post in a while. Hell I haven't done a post in a while. I will definitely try to keep up with this blog a little more often. I'll do fashion week stuff, pronto!]

Ha, like I needed more reasons to love you.

I haven't even watched the VMAs yet. Just hearing about it is enough. I don't hate Taylor Swift, nor do I LIKE Taylor Swift. The same thing goes for Beyonce. Neither one of them mean a thing to me. However, in the grand scheme of things, Taylor Swift does not deserve any awards. None. Zip. Zilch. She's an okay enough singer, and her songs have a way of lingering. The video itself? Worst thing I've ever seen. I actually have to give it up to Beyonce. Her video was hot. Wow, never thought I'd actually give Beyonce props. Are pigs flying yet?
Anyway, this post was not made to talk about those two ugly broads. It was made to declare my undying love for Mr. West. Could he be more awesome? No. He couldn't.

[Side note:I haven't watched VMAs in forever, they're seriously the wackest awards on TV. However Kanye's shenanigans are actually making me want to watch it.]

more, underfaved sets lol. They're not all under 15 faves like last time though.
Mini sets- sets smaller than normal your average. They tend to be comprised of mostly photos and text.[great definition, eh?] I have a huge love of the ones with fashion thrown in :]

Channeling Debbie Harry.

ON DATING OLDER GUYS:
"I'm not going to date someone who's sixteen.
Boys are so much less mature than girls as it is;
there's just no way—I would eat a boy my age alive."

ON RELATING TO OTHER TEENS:
"I live a very adult life: I have two different careers;
I'm on tour. What am I going to do, hang out
with the high school kids? I just can't relate
to what they talk about—it seems so petty."

ON WRITING HER OWN MUSIC:
"The most obvious thing is to look at me and say,
"Oh, pretty blonde girl, let's put her in pop."
But I would never want to do something
in music that isn't representing me."

ON HER UPDATED LOOK:
"I know people were a little, um, taken aback.
But it wasn't me that changed—it
was just that I decided to start being myself.
Now I do my own makeup, my
own hair, and dress myself, and it feels better."

Is it bad to say that I don't like her and
her new "too cool for school" attitude?
There's a strong chance that this
cover story actually made me hate her lol.
Before she seemed really sweet and cutesy.
Now she's just... boring. She has the same
"I'm too awesome to speak to you" theology
that the rest of her annoying generation has.
So for someone who is trying very hard to
be different, her speech and actions are exactly
the same as her contemporaries. Ugh,
there I go ranting about how annoying
teenagers are again. She just seems like
she's trying really hard to make everyone
believe that she's mature. She's trying to
grow up too fast, which is something
that I hate. Oh well, I don't like the shoot much
either. It just seems really off. I guess it's the awkward
clash between the girlyness of the background
and her Debbie Harry look. [Yes, I know
these aren't the official photos but these
outtakes are kinda bleh..] For someone who
apparently wants to be a model, she doesn't
seem to have any modeling talent whatsoever.
She looks completely dead and out of place.
There's no tension in the photos.. nothing that
makes me actually want to look at them.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?'
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people wont feel insecure around you

We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

(Marianne Williamson, A Return To Love; HarperCollins, 1992)

I love that quote. I'll have a real post soon. Sorry, I keep forgetting about this blog. [Not like it matters, no one really reads it.]
Hmm, well if anyone /does/ read this. You should comment and tell me your deepest fear :]

The Rumor Mill

Moving at the speed of life, we are bound to collide with each other.
-Crash

The universe was created by the concentration and collision of millions of molecules. In the densely populated metropolis of Los Angeles, the same situation occurs. Everyday we see and meet hundreds of people. And what do we do with these people? We interact, we converse, we learn. We make connections and relationships that can last for a matter of moments or for the rest of our lives. In LA, it is these social encounters that keep us from feeling as though we are the only sane people left in this crazy city. The best place to connect, you ask? The Rumor Mill. A quaint coffee shop/ laundromat where people come for a break and leave with much more...

When you step into the Rumor Mill, your dirty laundry will get aired. Everyone knows everything about you, or at least they think they do. Will you make friends or make enemies? Find love or declare war? Get discovered or get burned? How will you spin your stories, gossip, and oh yeah, your clothes?

Well we all know that with the ridiculously large amount of people on polyvore, it is very hard to see every set that gets published. Unfortunately, some really talented people and their really talented sets, never get to see the light of day-- or at least the popular list. SO! I've decided to find a few "under-faved," "under-commented," and generally just under-appreciated sets. I'm going to do this once a week. For this first blog, I'm just going to find a few [awesome] sets with under 15 faves. After that I might have "member spotlight" type thingers. Lame idea, but there are some really talented people that deserve to be seeeeeen! Ugh, I sound like Hip Hop Harry: the polyvore version.
